A Legacy of Brotherhood, Music & Service

The Pi Omicron Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity was chartered on November 13, 2004 as an extension of the ideals of Brotherhood in Music.

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia was founded on October 6, 1898 at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Founder Ossian Everett Mills believed an organization should be formed to show the dedication of men of the highest type — men of music. The Fraternity was formed to express the power of music and the brotherhood of musical men.

Men who come through this Fraternity come to understand the true meaning of brotherhood, service to others, and dedication to oneself.

“The Object of this Fraternity shall be for the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit; the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students; the advancement of music in America and a loyalty to the Alma Mater.”
